WODC – Climate Resilience Guidance

WODC has produced two guides to help residents and communities

Published: 6 August 2026

WODC have recently produced two new practical guides (attached below) to help residents and communities prepare for more frequent extreme weather, as rising greenhouse gas emissions drive climate change and global warming.
The first, Preparing for a Changing Climate, covers a range of practical actions people can take to improve resilience to issues such as flooding, heavy rainfall, hotter summers, drought and pressure on local nature and infrastructure.
The second, Keeping Cool During Hotter Weather, provides more specific advice on preparing homes for heatwaves, avoiding overheating, supporting people who may be particularly vulnerable and recognising heat-related illness.
